NYX Slide On, Glide On, Stay On & Definitely A Turn On Waterproof, Extreme Shine Eyeliner in Black Sparkle Review

4:32 PM

This name is way too long to bother even copying and pasting. Today's post is on that. Mine is 02 Black Sparkle. I actually originally intended to just pick up the regular black one, but as I was in a hurry I didn't look too closely and disregarded the sparkly packaging.

So these are supposed to be dupes for the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils. I can't compare them, as I don't have any, but from what I hear they are very similar. Anyways, I bought this eyeliner for $8 at Sears. It contains 0.04 oz of product and was made in Germany. NYX is a cruelty free company. Their products can be bought online and in certain drugstores and Ulta.

Ha, even the company knows the name is way too long. This liner is a tradition pencil liner, meaning it has to be sharpened (some product will be wasted no matter what). This liner is very very soft. It glides on like butter, without skipping. The color payoff for this particular color isn't that amazing, but it's still fairly pigmented. Besides, this shade is supposed to be sparkly black, not jet black. Anyways, this liner won't budge after you give it time to set. It won't slide around on your eyelid, and it's waterproof. This one faded a bit, but it was okay. Nothing too bad.

I like this liner, but not this shade. I'm probably going to end up giving it away. When I get the chance I'm definitely going to go pick up a few more colors, and next time I'll actually look at the shade (;

2 Apps you should have

8:00 PM

Hey y'all. Quickie post today on two cute apps you should have. I have an iPad, so these are all Apple apps. I'm not too sure about their availability on Android devices.

First app: swackett

This is available on like every smartphone (judging from my quick glance at the home screen). There's also a website. This thing is adorable. It tells you what to wear for the day! It's really cute and easy to use.

Second app: blendoku.

Basically, you try to put colors together in this game. It's a really simple game where you just try to connect the colors. It's strangely satisfying and therapeutic. It's also free!

Sorry for the short post! I'm super busy at the moment. Thanks for reading!

Treat Yoself | Pamper day

7:55 PM

If you watch Parks and Recreation I'm sure you'll recognize that phrase (Tom and Donna, anyone?). Actually, I'm sure you'll recognize that phrase from life in general.

my bbys i love you donna
Everybody gets stressed. It's just what people do. If you're a student, you know that exams are approaching and have already happened for some people. This is usually the time of year where I stress, because I zone out while I should be studying and end up thinking about my plans for the weekend, or planning a trip with my friends somewhere after school is over. I'm going on a tangent. Anyways, this is how to unstress and treat yourself with a pamper day (or evening, or hour).

First things first: change into pjs. I do this as much as possible. I'm not even kidding. Whenever I get home I'm taking off my street clothes and putting my pajamas on. I just feel so much happier and comfier in them. Then, I like to cut up some fruit (mangos I freaking love mangos) and watch some television just to unwind and sink into my pamper mood.

After I've finished my food and entertainment, I like to take a nice long shower. You can take a bath, if you're a bath person. I just prefer showers because I think they're more invigorating than baths, but do whatever floats your boat. I like to apply a deep conditioner on my hair while in the shower, cover it with a shower cap and come back later to rinse it out. You know the drill here; exfoliate your body and shave your legs. Put a nice smelling body butter (or lotion) on when you get out of the shower and your skin will feel heavenly.

So when I get out of the shower, I like to heat my hair (which is still in the deep conditioner in the shower cap) for a bit with my blowdryer just to make sure the conditioner really sinks in and works its magic. Then I just follow up with my skincare routine and whatever I do when I finish a shower and apply a face mask.

I like to multitask so I usually do my nails while I'm waiting for the mask to do its job, but you can lie down with cucumbers over your eyes, that sort of thing. I also like to watch more TV and YouTube videos while doing this because I like background noise. Either way, just relax.

So what I like to do with my hands is to soak them in olive oil for a bit (maybe around 5 minutes) and then put on a pair of gloves for some time. I leave the gloves on for perhaps twenty minutes, but you can leave them on for however long you wish. I just like twenty minutes because it's usually the time my sheet mask has started to dry as well. Anyways, rinse the hands with warm water (no soap!) and your hands will feel just as great as your legs. I like to apply a hand and cuticle cream now, and I wait a few minutes for it to sink in. Then, just follow up with your manicure - buff, file, and paint your nails.

When I'm done with my nails and they're fully dried, I go to rinse the hair mask off my hair. Then I put a leave-in conditioner in my hair and let it air dry. While I'm waiting, I like to curl up on my couch with a nice blanket and book, or my iPad or my computer.

And that's it! When you're done with your day you'll feel so amazing it's not even funny. Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

10:37 AM

Hope you all had a nice weekend, especially if you're from the States and got Monday off!

I saw someone do a post like this the other day and I thought it was a great idea. $100 is a lot of money, and I could get a lot of stuff with it.

Face products first!

Boots Botanics Virtually Weightless Color Adjusting Foundation - $12. I quite like the Boots Botanics line, and this foundation has some nice reviews.

elf HD Powder - $6. This is supposed to be a dube for the MUFE HD powder. I'd like to try it out.

NYX Concealer in a Jar - $5. I need a full coverage concealer in my collection. This would be nice.

elf Shimmering Facial Whip - $1. I don't have any highlighters as of right now, and this is only a dollar!

Neutrogena 3-1 Concealer for Eyes - $8. You gotta protect your eyes from the sun too, right? This has SPF 20.

Eyes!

Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Palette - $20.

MUA Undressed Me Too Palette - about $5 USD.

Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner in Black - about $7.

Brushes now, mkay?

elf Studio Small Smudge Brush - $3.

elf Kabuki Brush - $6.

Real Techniques Experts Face Brush - $9. Real Techniques are hard to come by where I live, and this looks so nice.

EcoTools Angled Eyeliner Brush - $5. I want to try this brush from EcoTools. There are nice reviews on it.

All the things I want at this moment, and I still have $13 dollars to spend! Okay, that'll be it for today. Look forward to a fashion and skincare edition of this.

Sample: L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Line Review

3:47 PM

This is going to bed a bit of a different post today. I'll be talking about some samples I have received, my first impressions/opinions, how many uses I got out of them, quality of the product in smaller qua ties, etc. This is going to be the first post out of this sample series. Some of the pictures are going to be pretty crap, because I've taken them with my iPad before allowing myself to use them.

So the first products I have are the products from the L'Oreal Total Repair 5 line (shampoo, conditioner, and a deep conditioner they call a balm). I requested this sample online. It took about two months to arrive, which I don't really care about, as I had forgotten I'd requested them. Each of these little packets contained .34 fl oz. (10 mL) of product and I got about four uses out of them each.

So usually I'm pretty skeptical about these immediate repair products. First of all, you can't mend split ends, you can only mask the appearance of them. For a true fix, you have to chop those ends off. Anyways, this line claims to repair five damages in one - split ends, weakness, roughness, dullness, and dehydration. It also claims to repair up to one year of damage in one use.

These were formulated for damaged, over processed and color treated hair, none of which I have. However, I've been using the same shampoo for years now and I'm getting so sick of it.

My first impression of the shampoo was that it smells like shampoo, what you'd expect shampoo to smell like. I thought it might smell heavenly, which was kind of a disappointment. My first thoughts on the conditioner? I couldn't open the damn thing. I had no problem with the shampoo packet, but just could not open the conditioner. I thought the balm was good, I have nothing to compare it too as I like to use a mix of olive oil and my regular conditioner to deep condition my hair. It made my hair feel smooth and shiny. All of these products are a good consistency.

These products are really really good! A little bit of all of them goes a long way. They made my hair shiny, hydrated, and my hair really did feel a lot stronger. I'm not certain of the roughness or the split ends, because I don't have much of either, but they really did live up to the claims.

Tips for working out!

4:22 PM

I'm quite lazy. I don't like the idea of working out. I'm busy. But you know what? I do manage to find time to work out. I don't go to the gym, I'm a runner; I can run outside, on a treadmill, or an elliptical. Also, I'm a student. I don't have enough money for a gym membership. Even if you don't run, you can still workout at home! There are so many home workouts that are just as good as gym machines or classes. So these are my lazy girl tips for working out when you're like me: a procrastinator and a person who just doesn't like to move, stay tuned.

Oh, by the way, I am by no means a professional. I just enjoy running.

  1. Stagger your workouts. Lets be honest, there are going to be days where you just want to lay around watching tv in your pajamas (every day). Rather than trying to work out everyday, I recommend giving yourself a few days a week off. For example, work out every other day. Or work out every weekday, and let yourself rest on the weekends.
  2. Set a schedule. This just makes your workouts easier to follow, and also if you're busy, then it makes your life a lot less hectic.
  3. Don't work out within two hours of going to bed. Your endorphins will be up and running and you'll just feel too awake.
  4. Drink lots of water. This isn't just a tip for working out, it's a tip in general. However, it is super important to drink up when you work out because of obvious dehydration risks.
  5. Don't wear makeup working out. This can clog your pores, and obviously, you're not going to look too hot with foundation sweating off your face.
  6. Try to break a sweat.
Just some quick tips! Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for reading~

See y'all tomorrow

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette

5:15 PM

Hello. Today's post is on the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette.

I got this concealer from Target for $11. I believe there's only one shade available, 07. Sonia Kashuk products can be bought in Target stores and are not tested on animals. They are made in the USA.

The concealer is packaged in a magnetized quad. The inside is silver and does tend to get a little messy, but that can be cleaned up easily.

This palette includes two concealer shades, a green toned neutralizer, and a translucent setting powder. The concealers are very very creamy, easy to blend, and feel smooth on the skin. They don't look cakey at all, cover well, and give a very natural looking finish. The translucent powder feels very fine. It doesn't settle into fine lines, and doesn't cake up either.

These concealers are very easily blended and it's easy to mix the two shades to custom match your skin.

The translucent powder is a very nice touch in the kit.

Overall, I would highly recommend this product. It's convenient and I like how there's a green toned concealer too.

Sonia Kashuk Radiance Tinted Moisturizer in Beige Review!

5:04 PM

Hey there bunnies, today I have a review for y'all. It's on the Sonia Kashuk Radiance Tinted Moisturizer in Beige.

I got this tinted moisturizer for about $14 at Target. Mine is in the shade Beige, one of five shades available. Sonia Kashuk products can be bought in Target stores and are not tested on animals. This tinted moisturizer contains SPF 15. There is 1.75 of oz of product, which is a good amount. It was made in the USA.

Underneath the claims on the back of the bottle there used to be a little booklet that contained the ingredients, but I ripped that off by accident.

The product is housed in a squeeze tube, which is hygienic and easy to control how much product comes out.

It's not very thin, it doesn't run down my hand, but it's not so thick that it's practically solid. It's a perfect medium between the two.

Partially blended
Blended

Blended with flash
This tinted moisturizer is easily blended. It's a little too orange for me, but since it can be blended so easily, it works. It has pretty decent coverage for a tinted moisturizer, I'd say light/medium that is buildable. It does have a little bit of a sunscreen smell (due to the SPF), but it's nothing too bad. As you can see, there's no noticeable white cast. It has a natural finish, neither dewy nor matte, and for my normal/dry skin does not require setting with powder, however I would recommend you set with powder if you have oily skin.

I like this product. I'll be honest, it does tend to oxidize (turn darker) just a little bit. It's nothing too bad. It comes off easily with makeup remover, and apparently contains a vitamin complex. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a natural, everyday look.
