Hey guy, I'm going to Canada tomorrow and I won't have the Internet. I can't post but I'll be back in 10 days. Take care of yourself. Bye!
Hey there, how's it going? Today's post is going to be a little bit different. I decided I'm going to start a series called Emily's Mediocre Life Advice, as you can see from the title. I am by no means an expert at life. I spend most of my time pitying myself and watching television, actually. But along the way I have picked up some well-learned lessons.
I'm going to keep this short and simple. I'm not looking for any pity, I just want to share my advice with anyone with the same problems as me. Maybe you'll get something out of this too. I have been mildly depressed for the better part of a year. I cope. You know how it is, sometimes you just have those bad days.
Anyways, I want to help people. I enjoy making people laugh, it's one of the things in life that make me happiest. However, I tend to have a very awkward air. I make people laugh uncomfortably, which cracks me in turn up. But since text can be deceiving (I could be being sarcastic right now but I could also be being dead serious), I have a non humorous post about how to keep yourself happy when you're sad.
I'm rather serious on this blog. I feel like I never joke or make cute phrases. I've hardly said much about myself, so I thought that I'd make a post about myself (other than my Personal Thursday posts, which are on hiatus).
hey bun buns, how's it going? i'm doing okay, studying for exams right now with my hair in a top not and no bra on (tmi? sorry boo).
| What a terrible picture. I apologize. |
today's post is about lip balms. lip balms are something we often don't think too much about, but yet everybody uses them. me? i love lip balm. they're one of my guilty pleasures. i have much too many for anyone's sake. i wanted to explain something of lip balms that most people usually don't know.
many lip balms contain a lot of wax. this isn't a necessarily a bad thing, but waxy balms do cater to a specific need. instead of providing moisture, they're designed to create a barrier and lock moisture in. and why do we use lip balms? to give our parched lips moisture. if our lips don't have moisture, and we apply something meant to lock in moisture, isn't it basically useless? if you're looking for something to provide hydration, use a balm that doesn't have wax in the first five ingredients. then apply a waxy balm on top to really lock in the moisture.
i don't recommend you use eos, chapstick, or burt's bees lip balms for the simple reason that they're all very waxy. instead, use something like carmax, palmers, nivea, or trusty rose salve.
okay y'all, thanks for reading! have a wonderful day.
Good morning, afternoon, and evening. A few weeks ago I did a review on the Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Rosy Red, where I said I wanted to try out another shade from that collection, Unique Pink. Today's review is on just that.

I like to remind people of the basics. The three most important beauty rules are to stay hydrated, happy, and put on sunscreen. But that's not the point of this post.
Come on in! I didn't see you there. Come, sit down. Let's have a talk. What about? How about the NYX Megashine Lip Gloss? Hmm?
Hey y'all. I'm back with another review, today is on a liquid eyeliner, specifically the Physician's Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Eyeliner + Serum.
I got this eyeliner for about $11 at Target. Physician's Formula products can be purchased online and at drugstores. This eyeliner is availble in three shades, Black, Ultra Black, and Deep Brown. It's also available in felt-tip form. I have the brush tip one in Ultra Black.
Anyways, after that little rant about the pigmentation, it's not a 24 hour eyeliner. Some people boast about it not going anywhere, but that (for me, at least) is just not true. It won't smudge, that's true, but it fades off by the end of the day. And I'm talking school day, so around 7 hours. It removes very easily with water, so if you're just wearing eyeliner on your eyes than removing your eye makeup will be a piece of cake.
Okay, that's it for today! Thanks for reading.
I bought this lip gloss at Target (cannot remember price. Website says $9, but I don't think I paid that much). Burt's Bees products are sold at drugstores and online. They are cruelty free, but not vegan.
