NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator in Gleam | Review

8:00 AM

Hey, y'all. How are you doing? I hope the warmer weather's been good to you. Today I've got a product that's pretty fitting for warm weather, especially in summer.

What it is: liquid highlighter
Where it is: Ulta and Target, plus online
Price: $7.50
NYX is cruelty free!

Now that summer is nearing, people are ditching matte products in order to achieve a dewy, healthy glow. This product is one of the contenders out there. NYX says to "Capture that sexy glow with our lightweight, multi-functional illuminator. Use as a foundation base or over cheekbones, décolletage, or cupids bow for that refreshing luminosity that'll have everyone talking." This product supposedly contains .6 fl oz and is available in two shades, Sunbeam (a more pinky shade) and Gleam (a more peachy shade), which is what I'll be reviewing.

The packaging is pretty basic but functional. It comes in a small squeeze tube that corresponds to the shade inside. The black cap screws on tightly and securely, so I have no fear that it'll come undone and ruin its surroundings.

This gives a gorgeous peachy sheen to the skin. To be perfectly honest, I have a more oliveish tone and although I could see hints of the peach it was mostly a healthy, light reflecting glow. Although this is a liquid product, I find the texture to much more solid than other liquids. It feels like a whipped cream product and is really easy to apply and blend. It blends like a d r e a m. You can apply directly to focal points of the face (nose bridge, cheekbones, Cupid's bow) or you could mix it in with your foundation for an all-around glow. A little goes a long way - think about a quarter of a pea sized is how much you need. The only issue I have is that there isn't actually very much product in here; it's about halfway full, making it a bit pricey for the amount given. But since you do only need the slightest amount, you should be set for a while. While this isn't the most long lasting product, it wears nicely throughout the day and won't smear.

That's what the color looks like on a baby wipe, in case you wanted to know how peach it is.

Thanks for reading! What are your favorite highlighting products?
